Stereolithography

strnrolith.jpg (27215 bytes)strnrolith1.jpg (18319 bytes)This process quickly builds prototypes or engineering models by directing a laser beam to draw a .006" thick cross-section of a 3D CAD file on the surface of a liquid photopolymer, which hardens on contact with the laser. Each cross-section is lowered by an elevator into the tank, and the process is repeated, layer by layer, until a three-dimensional part is formed.

SLA parts can be used to verify design and manufacturability, and as masters for rapid tooling applications to further speed the development cycle. Made from the latest epoxy-based materials similar to ABS, they can be sanded, machined or painted to simulate production parts.

Our in-house 3D Systems Stereolithography Apparatus includes an SLA 500/30H with solid state laser -- capabilities that enable us to build parts as small as a telephone jack or as large as an engine block.

 Software

San-Tech has developed a broad array of software expertise that enables us to offer customers state of the art technology combined with unparalleled service.

We can accept your 2D print, 3D IGES file, solids or fully formatted .STL file electronically or in a variety of formats including zip drive, CD, or through our FTP site.

For designers working in Wireframe, Surfaces or Solids, we have developed a broad array of software expertise, including Pro/ENGINEER and Solidworks. These tools provide a transparent link and allow us to develop your designs from 2D and prints into solids and prepare the resulting design for engineering, analysis and manufacturing.

For engineers, these same tools enable us to produce precise detail and accuracy that can be used for next-level flow analysis, detailed prints and a direct link to CNC manufacturing.

Our software capabilities include:

  • Pro/ENGINEER
  • Solidworks
